Current Construction in Danbury

ROAD CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY  

Beginning October 15th, Danbury Public Works Department will be conducting road construction on Franklin St, Starr Ave, and Mill Ridge Rd. This construction will not result in road closings, however, there is the possibility of travel restrictions during this work period.

During this period there will be NO on-street parking. Construction should last approximately 4 to 5 weeks. Any questions regarding this notice should be directed to Danbury Department of Public Works at 203-797-4605.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY

Moss Avenue Sewer Main Replacement Scheduled to start on approximately October 7th. Project begins on White Street and continues down Moss Avenue and across Osborne Street into Griffing Avenue.

A new Sewer Main Replacement construction project will start October 7th. This sewer main work will be begin in the middle of White Street, continue down Moss Avenue and across Osborne Street into Griffing Avenue.

Additional work will be conducted on Osborne Street and White Street. At the beginning of the construction phase, the width of the traffic lanes, one in each direction, over the Moss Avenue area shall be reduce to two ten foot wide lanes. The city will avoid a complete road closure to vehicular traffic. There may be periodic traffic flow stops in order safely move equipment. During the construction, traffic shall be detoured around the sewer work.

The replacement of the sanitary sewer is estimated to take 2 months to complete, during this period delays should be expected and even though the road will be open, drivers are recommended to avoid using Moss Avenue as a thruway.

Beginning September 22nd, Danbury Public Works Department will be conducting road construction at night on Osborne St, Germantown Rd, Great Plain Rd, Sandpit Rd, Rockwell Rd, and Starr Rd. This construction will not result in road closings, however, there is the possibility of travel restrictions and detours during this work period.

During this period there will be NO on-street parking. Construction should last approximately 3 to 4 weeks. Any questions regarding this notice should be directed to Danbury Department of Public Works at 203-797-4605.

During this period there will be NO on-street parking. Construction should last approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Any questions regarding this notice should be directed to Danbury Department of Public Works at 203-797-4605.
