Macro Burst/Tornado Debris Clean-up Plan

What:

A FEMA experienced contractor will begin debris clean-up in the City’s formally declared disaster area, which is the northern and northeast section of the city.

Why:

Due to a macro burst/ tornado that effected the northern and northeast area of our city on May 15, 2018, the city is in the midst of executing a clean-up plan that falls within the parameters set forth by FEMA for federal reimbursement.

The State of Connecticut has applied to FEMA for a Presidential Declaration, however, the application is still pending.  We have not received any declaration for this storm at this time.  We are implementing this clan-up plan which will meet all FEMA requirements in the hope that if a declaration is received, we can be reimbursed.

When:

Crews will mobilize on July 5th and will work until all designated clean-up is completed.

Where:

Neighborhoods in Danbury’s formally declared disaster area.  The north and northeast section of the city identified by officials.

Who:

AshBritt will be the contractor performing the work, and an experienced FEMA monitor will accompany each crew to track quantities and verify that only debris from the public right of way is picked up.
