DANBURY WATER DEPARTMENT

2022 FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING

The City of Danbury Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants beginning Monday, April 4, 2022 and will be completed in approximately ten weeks.

Annual flushing of the hydrants is necessary to provide better quality water and fire protection. Customers may experience fluctuations in pressure and/or discoloration of their water during flushing.
If you experience discolored water, wait until we leave your area then run your cold water tap until it clears.

During periods of discoloration, postpone washing clothes and limit your use of hot water until the cold water clears.

Please check back to this webpage for an updated list of streets to be flushed in a given week.

Week 7 flushing – 5/16/22-5/20/22 – Tentative list of Streets to be Flushed

The following is a list of streets and areas to be flushed during the fourth week (5/16/22-5/20/22) of fire hydrant/water main flushing by the Danbury Water Department.  Annual flushing is necessary to provide better quality water and fire protection.  Customers in areas listed below may experience fluctuations in pressure and/or discoloration of their water during flushing.

If you experience discolored water, wait till we leave your area, then run your cold-water tap until it clears.  During periods of discoloration postpone washing clothes and limit your use of hot water until the cold water clears.  This list may need to be deviated from depending of field flushing conditions.
