2021 Holiday Celebrations Kick-Off Saturday, December 4!

November 24, 2021

Saturday, December 4th is a Holi-DAY of Family Fun!

Kick-off the holiday season at the Danbury Library’s Holiday Craft Fair from 10am – 2pm. Then grab a bite at one of Danbury’s local businesses and get ready to head on back to the Library Plaza to help the Mayor at CityCenter Danbury’s Light the Lights!

The Holiday Craft Fair will feature over a dozen artists and craftspeople demonstrating their skills throughout the day. You’ll find handcrafted jewelry, embroidered textiles, candlemaking, sculptors, and much more! You will also be able to purchase Danbury’s first-ever community cookbook Savor Danbury, featuring over 300 recipes submitted by community members!

Your little ones (3+) will love the Make & Take, where they can create their own holiday magic! Craft materials will be available on the junior floor for children and families to make a special craft to take home. This activity is free with no registration required.

Wait! There’s more – TUBACHRISTMAS will be performing on the Library Plaza at 1pm!

Take some time to recharge because we need you to help power up the lights downtown and outside of the Library!

That’s right, it’s time for the annual Light the Lights hosted by CityCenter Danbury!

Mayor Joe Cavo and Danbury’s incoming Mayor, Dean Esposito, need your help to light up downtown at the Library Plaza! It’ll be a night of fun and festivities for all ages starting at 5pm!

The Beckerle Hose Company is even bringing a special guest, all the way from the North Pole…

Yep, you guessed it! Santa is trading in his sleigh for a decorated fire truck and stopping by the Library Plaza to meet the children. Bring your own camera to take photos of your child with Santa!

There will also be cookies, carolers, hot chocolate, and more all while you wait for the exciting lighted fire truck parade that takes place on Main Street!

This free event is sponsored by Savings Bank of Danbury.

See you on Dec. 4th! Happy Holidays!
