About the Legislative Assistant
The office serves as a document and information resource to the City Council, City Departments, and the citizens of Danbury and is responsible for the preparation of all Council agendas, minutes and official notices. The Legislative Assistant serves as the custodian of public records, ordinances, resolutions, minutes of the Council meetings and ensures that the decisions of the legislative body are properly recorded by keeping records and maintaining archives for posterity. The Legislative Assistant publishes all ordinances and notices as required by law and, as custodian of the City seal, attests all resolutions, ordinances, agreements, contracts and other legal documents of the City. The Legislative Assistant continues to work with the Mayor and IT Department to stream ‘live’ video of the monthly Council meetings as well as all Ad Hoc meetings of the Council.
