COVID-19 Tracking

As of May 11, 2023, the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Declaration has concluded, leading to the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health to release its final COVID-19 data report for the 2022-2023 respiratory viral disease season on June 1, 2023. Moving forward, the reporting of COVID-19 cases will align with our seasonal respiratory surveillance reporting program, which spans from early October to late May or early June of each year.

It is important to note that this change does not imply that COVID-19 is no longer a public health concern or that the virus has been eradicated. The City of Danbury Department of Health and Human Services wishes to remind residents that we can maintain good health and coexist with COVID-19 and other viruses by receiving full vaccination, staying home when feeling unwell, and practicing proper hygiene. These effective measures apply to various infectious diseases, which explains the significant progress we have made over the past 3 years.
