The City of Danbury Department of Health & Human Services will be offering a basic food handler training course in an effort to educate food service establishments and provide a refresher for food service workers. This three-hour course will cover basic elements that a food service worker must demonstrate to be in compliance with the requirements of the Public Health Code for Class 3 and 4 Food Establishments. It will also cover important information on foodborne illness prevention, including time and temperature controls, food safety, cross contamination, and personal hygiene.
A certificate and record of training are provided to those who complete the food handler training and pass the test. This may satisfy the “Designated Alternate” requirement.
All courses are held from 9:00am – 12:00pm at Danbury City Hall located 155 Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury, CT 06810. Please check in to the Health & Human Services Department 15 minutes before the class begins.
Please note that you are required to bring:
- government issued photo ID
- two #2 pencils
- all beverages must be in containers with a lid
Payment is required no later than 3 days before the class. Checks are to be made payable to “City of Danbury”.
Course materials can be picked up at City Hall at the time of payment. Please read the handouts before coming to the class.
