10/15/2012 - First Night Danbury's Call For Volunteers

“Danbury Fare” is this year’s First Night Danbury theme, celebrating its 23rd year of fun filled, family friendly arts events throughout CityCenter on New Year's Eve. The multi-cultural, multi-arts fest begins on Monday, December 31st at 4pm and offers up 4 hours of  unique performances, lots of music, and surprises around every corner.

Recognizing the famed historic  Danbury Fair as well as CityCenter’s ongoing Fare, First Night Danbury will present vaudeville, for the fifth year, at the Palace Theater, classical music at the Music Centre, arts & crafts at ESCAPE to the Arts, puppets at the Public Library, and many other arts and cultural entertainments.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to check First Nighters in at the doors for more than 30 events. First Night also needs greeters to meet the performers and to assist backstage. All ages are welcomed, and First Night encourages family teams to host. Everyone receives a button to First Night and with two hour shifts, enough time to attend several performances. Community Service hours are available.
