Danbury Nutmeg State Games

July 26 - August 3 2008

Nutmeg Games Brochure         Nutmeg State Games 2008

DANBURY – Partnerships continue to grow as the 2008 Health Net Nutmeg State Games approach.

Union Savings Bank (Gold sponsor), Danbury Hospital (Silver sponsor) and Savings Bank of Danbury (Bronze sponsor) have joined the Northwest Convention and Visitors Bureau (Silver sponsor) as major partners as Danbury hosts the 20th annual Games (July 25 – August 3).

Additionally, Webster Bank and Eagle Ice Sports which owns Danbury Arena have become sponsors. The Arena particularly will play a more visible role now because figure skating has been added to this year’s Games.

With local initiative from both the staff at the Ice Arena, HVSports and the Laurel Ridge Skating Club, this event will move away from West Hartford for the first time in five years. This is a United States Figure Skating Association sanctioned competition. To learn more about our Danbury-based Laurel Ridge Skating Club, you can visit their website, www.laurelridgesc.com

"I am extremely pleased that Danbury Arena will serve as the host to the figure skating competition for the 2008 Nutmeg State Games," said Eagle Ice Sports President Greg Lockard. "We are proud to be one of the outstanding facilities in Greater Danbury, that will serve as hosts for such a terrific event". Lockard is also involved as Vice President of HVSports.

The figure skating event will be conducted on July 13 and 14, outside the main window of the July 25 - August 3 Games due to other conflicting state and regional competitions.
